Zombie Games - The Latest Craze

Since "Dawn of The Dead" came out in the 70s people have been fascinated with the walking dead and lately that has manifested itself into a whole host of Zombie games for a variety of video game systems.

There are three dominant types of these games, first person shooters, survival hour and beat 'em up. All of these different genres serve different niches in the video game world; however anyone that likes zombie games will enjoy all of them equally. The first style is Survival horror, the main object is usually to go through some kind of story, or solve a mystery of sorts.
The story telling is usually very well done; they are also usually really intense. Often times this genre features more puzzle solving and critical thinking than actual action, which makes them a good option for a lot of people that want a more intelligent form of entertainment.

The next popular style is "The First Person Shooter".
In this genre you take on the perspective of the main character and you move and aim at whatever the main enemy of the story is. These games have been long popular ever since the game Wolfenstein 3D came out in the early 90s.
Since then this genre has exploded into and you can take on just about any kind of fictional or historical enemy imaginable, including zombies. The final big genre is the Beat 'em up. In games like this the world is over-come with zombies and it is your job to take them all on.

While these are much less realistic they are usually more popular as they appeal to casual gamers and the skill curve is generally much lower.
Games like the Dead Rising are a great way to have some fun without having to do too much thinking, making them a great way to relax and blow off stress.

So no matter what kind of Zombie games appeal to you, there are plenty of options.
Even if you are just a fan of zombies in genre there is sure to be something out there that you would enjoy.
